Blox is an abstract game for two to four players where they try to build towers and earn points for them, and later in the game demolish these, and again score for it.
x
Players start with five cards and four pawns in their colour. By playing a color card, a pawn enters the board from the side, stopping on the first space of the played colour.
In a next turn, this pawn can be moved along the row or column it stands on, or be used to build or destroy a tower.
To build, it takes as many colour cards as the heigth of the tower; a point chit may be taken with the value of the heigth - a similar chit is put on top of the tower.
x
If a players destroys a tower, it follows the same procedure, but now he may take the bricks and put them in front of him. This is his supply from which he can build future towers.
At the start of the game there are already some towers on the board, so as to supply players with some building material. During the game, more and higher towers can be built.
It is also possible to remove an opposing pawn; this costs three cards of the colour of the space the opposing pawn is on, and also scores points.
At the end of their turn, players refill their hand to five cards.
Each player has a joker card to replace a missing colour.

For 'Der Name der Rose' (The Name of the Rose), it is Stefan Feld again who this time did not make a game for Alea, but for Ravensburger itself.
The game is situated in a monastery and deals with a murder that William of Baskerville has to solve, together with his subordinate Adson. Ofcourse everyone is a suspect, but there is only one who committed the crime. The game will be a family game, but will be of the complex kind, as the age indication already suggests.
Hopefully turning the rules pages will be without any danger - but it certainly would be a unique gimmick!
